An Educational Trip to Rashtrapati Niketan
On 19th May 2026, Sunrise Academy organized an educational trip to Rashtrapati Niketan for the students of Classes VIII and IX.
Students explored the 186-year-old heritage property, which was once used during the British era as a summer camp for the Governor General’s Bodyguard horses. They also learned about the beautiful orchard of Dehradun’s famous litchi and mango trees. The visit became even more special as students got the opportunity to see the President’s Gallery displaying portraits of all the Presidents of India, the residential rooms used during presidential visits, the formal dining area, and a room showcasing traditional Garhwali Aipan art.
The tour concluded with a visit to the stable area, where students saw horses belonging to one of the oldest regiments of the Indian Army. The trip was informative, memorable, and enriched students’ knowledge of India’s history and heritage.
