Workshop on the POCSO Act
After the long summer vacation, the new academic session at Sunrise Academy commenced with a staff meeting and an informative workshop on the POCSO Act (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012) on 4th July 2026. The workshop was organized for teachers, office staff, and ancillary staff in the presence of the school management members.
The resource person for the session was LC. Mrs. Neelam Posted :- Mahila Suraksha Helpline Dehradun. She provided valuable insights into the provisions of the POCSO Act and emphasized the importance of ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of children. She explained various forms of abuse, the rights of children, and the responsibilities of adults in identifying, preventing, and reporting any form of misconduct.
Mrs. Neelam also guided the participants on how educational institutions can create a safe and supportive environment for students. She highlighted the significance of maintaining appropriate professional boundaries, being vigilant about children’s behaviour, and promptly addressing any concerns related to child safety.
The interactive workshop helped participants gain a better understanding of child protection laws and their role in safeguarding children. The workshop was highly informative and enlightening. It reinforced the commitment of Sunrise Academy towards providing a safe, secure, and nurturing environment for every child.
