National Sports Day
Sunrise Academy celebrated National Sports Day on 29th August 2026 with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship, commemorating the birth anniversary of the legendary Indian hockey player Major Dhyan Chand.
On this occasion, Col.Brown School organised an Inter-School GK Quiz Competition, in which eight schools participated: Sunrise Academy, Core International School, Summer Valley School, Guru Nanak Academy, St. Thomas College, Doon Presidency School, Sai Grace Academy, and Brooklyn School.
Sunrise Academy was represented by four talented students—Priya Bisht and Aditya Kumar of Class XII, and Shivendra Prakash Naithani and Hanshika Chauhan of Class XI. The students displayed confidence and teamwork throughout the competition.
The first round consisted of 25 questions, after which five schools qualified for the second round and Sunrise Academy was one of them. The subsequent rounds included an exciting Buzzer Round, Audio-Visual Round, Photo Round and other challenging rounds that tested the participants’ general awareness, quick thinking and presence of mind.The students of Sunrise Academy performed remarkably well.
To further mark the spirit of National Sports Day, various games and sporting activities were also organised for the students within the school premises. Students participated with great excitement and competitive spirit.
The celebration served as a wonderful reminder that sports are an integral part of holistic education, fostering fitness, confidence, teamwork and perseverance among young learners.
