80th Independence Day
Sunrise Academy celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India with immense enthusiasm, pride and patriotic fervour. The celebration brought together the management, dignitaries, teachers and students to honour the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and celebrate the spirit of a free and progressive India.
The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolising the triumph of knowledge, hope and enlightenment. It was a matter of immense pride and privilege for the school to welcome its esteemed Chief Guest, Shri Anil Raturi ji, a distinguished former IPS officer of the 1987 batch, is an accomplished administrator, author, poet, thinker and columnist. He served as Director General of Police, Uttarakhand, and held several key positions in policing, training and administration. His exemplary service has earned him prestigious Police Medals and honours.
The celebration continued with a charming show “Little ones on big roles” by the Pre-Primary students, who dressed up as famous personalities of India. Their adorable performances reflected their understanding of India’s great leaders and national heroes.
Anay Nautiyal and Abhilash Baluni of Class V shared their thoughts on the significance of Independence Day, highlighting the importance of freedom, unity, patriotism and responsible citizenship.
The school campus came alive with a vibrant Patriotic Dance Performance by the Junior and Senior School students. Their energetic and graceful performances beautifully expressed their love for the nation.
The Senior School students then presented a thought-provoking skit titled “Awakening of a Nation,” depicting India’s journey, awakening and the spirit of freedom.
The celebrations were further enriched by a soulful Patriotic Choir Performance, which filled the atmosphere with the spirit of national pride and unity.
A special Felicitation Ceremony was also organised to honour the talented winners of the English Essay Writing Competition and English Debate Competition. The achievers were applauded for their outstanding performance, confidence and literary skills.
The much-awaited moment of the programme was the address by the Chief Guest, Shri Anil Raturi ji.Through his inspiring words, he encouraged the students to value the freedom they have inherited, remain disciplined and responsible citizens, and contribute meaningfully towards the development of the nation. His address served as a source of motivation and inspiration for the young minds.
The programme concluded with the distribution of sweets, spreading joy among the students and marking the auspicious occasion on a sweet note.
