A Drug Abuse Awareness Session was conducted at Sunrise Academy for students of Classes IX to XII on 12th July 2025. The session was taken by Ma’am Shivani Gupta, the school counselor, with the objective of educating students about the harmful effects of drug use and promoting a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.
During the session, Ma’am Shivani Gupta emphasized the physical, emotional, and social consequences of drug abuse. She explained how substance misuse affects brain development, academic performance, and relationships. Interactive discussions were held. Various myths and misconceptions about drugs were clarified. Students were also guided on how to resist peer pressure and seek help in case they or someone they know is at risk.
Students appreciated the session and acknowledged the importance of being informed and alert.
