On the occasion of Gandhi–Shastri Jayanti, Manthan Welfare Society, Kusum Kanta Foundation, SPECS, Him Foundation, and Sunrise Academy jointly organized the Paryavan Prahri Samman on 11th October 2025 at Sunrise Academy. In this event, 20 Environmental Protectors were honored for their remarkable contributions in the field of environmental conservation. It is noteworthy that this award ceremony has been organized for the past four years, and this year marked the fifth edition of the program.
The Chief Guest of the event was Raipur MLA, Mr. Umesh Sharma ‘Kau’, and the Guest of Honour was eminent writer and author, Mr. Tapas Chakravarty.
The Chief Guest was warmly welcomed by Mrs. Vidushi Nishank, President of Kusum Kanta Foundation, and Dr. Brij Mohan Sharma, Secretary of SPECS.
Mrs. Vidushi Nishank, Founder of Kusum Kanta Foundation and Chairperson of Sunrise Academy, delivered the welcome address, while Mrs. Pooja Pokhriyal, Secretary of Manthan Welfare Society and Managing Director of Sunrise Academy, proposed the vote of thanks.
Ms. Shivani Gupta presented the overview of the program.
Among the distinguished guests present were Advocate Aryan Dev Uniyal, Mr. Amit Pokhriyal, Dr. Vijay Gambhir (a renowned physiotherapist and keynote speaker), Dr. Vinod Bhatt (an expert with 30 years of experience in Organic Farming and Environmental Sustainability), Mrs. Divya Sachin Bansal (Director of First Step Organization working for the Development of Women and Children), Mrs. Amita Singh (Councilor, Mohit Nagar), Mr. Prashant Dobhal (Councilor, Adhoiwala area, Municipal Corporation, Dehradun), and Mr. Satpal Singh Gandhi (retired officer, Garhwal Mandal Vikas Department and a Multifaceted Personality).
On this occasion, a creative competition on the theme “Best from Waste” was also organized. Students from Sunrise Academy and various other schools showcased their innovative and eco-friendly models. The winners of this competition were also felicitated at the end of the program.
