Sunrise Academy organized an enriching Pottery Workshop as a part of vocational training for the students of Class X on 9th April 2026. The workshop aimed to provide students with hands-on experience in traditional clay art while enhancing their creativity and practical skills.
The session was conducted by a skilled artisan, who introduced the students to the basics of pottery. He explained how clay is made—natural soil is collected, cleaned to remove impurities like stones and roots, mixed with water, and kneaded well to make it smooth and workable.
Students were also taught simple techniques such as hand-moulding and wheel-throwing. One of the most interesting parts of the workshop was learning how to make a flower using clay. The instructor guided students step-by-step to shape petals, join them carefully, and create a beautiful clay flower.
The workshop not only helped students explore their artistic abilities but also highlighted the importance of vocational skills in today’s world. It encouraged patience, focus, and appreciation for traditional crafts.
Overall, the activity was highly engaging and informative. Students thoroughly enjoyed the experience and expressed their enthusiasm for more such practical learning opportunities in the future.
