Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) Programme
Sunrise Academy had the privilege of hosting the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) Programme, organised by the Rotary Club Dehradun Central (RCDC). RYLA is an intensive leadership experience designed to help young students develop leadership skills, confidence, teamwork and a positive approach towards challenges.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome to the distinguished guests, dignitaries, Rotarians, school authorities and students. The event began with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp. This was followed by Vande Mataram and the National Anthem.
The programme focused on important themes such as awareness of social and legal issues, challenges of adolescence, leadership development and transforming motivation into meaningful action. An engaging and enjoyable game/activity for the students added an element of fun while encouraging participation, interaction and teamwork.
A special spiritual segment was conducted by Ann Rakhi Bansal, who presented a sacred recital of Bhagavad Gita shlokas. Her soulful presentation created a serene and positive atmosphere and offered the students an opportunity for reflection and inner growth.
The highlight of the programme was an interactive leadership workshop conducted by Ann Neena Sharma ji.
Through engaging activities, interaction and thought-provoking discussions, she encouraged students to understand the qualities of an effective leader and motivated them to recognise their potential, make responsible decisions and turn their motivation into action.
The programme also included a cultural presentation by Sardar Jaswinder Singh, adding vibrancy and entertainment to the event. Felicitations were also extended to the members of the Rotary Club and distinguished guests for their valuable presence and contribution.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks expressing gratitude to the Rotary Club Dehradun Central, the dignitaries, resource persons, school authorities and all the participants for making the programme meaningful and memorable.
The RYLA programme proved to be an enriching experience for the students of Classes IX and XI, inspiring them to learn, connect, lead and grow with confidence and responsibility.
