The Ruskin Bond Literature Festival
Students of Sunrise Academy enthusiastically participated in the Ruskin Bond Literature Festival organized at the prestigious Lekhak Gaon on 24th May 2026. The event brought together distinguished litterateurs, academicians, intellectuals, and young writers on a common platform celebrating literature and creativity.
The festival provided a wonderful opportunity to ignite a spirit of reading, writing, and creative thinking among the younger generation. A Story Writing Competition was also organized on the occasion, in which students from many schools, including ten students from Sunrise Academy, participated with great enthusiasm.
Students were given different themes and topics to develop stories, encouraging them to think creatively and express their ideas confidently through words. The competition proved to be a valuable learning experience and an inspiring opportunity for students to emerge as budding writers of the future.
An informative and engaging session was also conducted during the festival in a heavily packed auditorium, where interesting facts about the life and literary journey of renowned author Ruskin Bond were shared by his family members, including his grandchildren. The session deeply inspired the audience and offered a closer glimpse into the life of the legendary writer.
Several eminent personalities graced the occasion with their presence, including India’s first woman IPS officer and former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, Kiran Bedi, along with Siddharth Bond, Sushant Pathak, Shweta Agrawal, and Shwetang Sharma, among many other distinguished guests.
The visit to the festival proved to be truly enriching and memorable for the students, as it nurtured creativity, developed literary interest, and inspired them through interaction with eminent personalities from the literary world.
